Artist Statement
My love of painting and drawing dates from my childhood.
Over the years, I have been influenced by many painters and
painting styles, especially the Abstract Expressionists...in
particular, de Kooning. I'm also very drawn to the works of
Diebenkorn, and love the beauty and serenity of Japanese
Art.
I enjoy painting emotional, abstract land and waterscapes.
I am fortunate to live in the Bay Area, surrounded by so
much natural beauty. My family and I often take day trips
around the Bay, up to Napa, and down the coast and I like to
paint my impressions and memories of some of the places
we've visited. I also enjoy painting the figure.
My paintings have been sold through local galleries, and
are in private collections throughout the country.
